1. What makes the Carbon Testnet different from previous testnets?
Unlike previous testnets where users could create or upload stacks themselves, Carbon introduces a claim-based model. Users can no longer create stacks manually — instead, each participant receives a pre-generated stack which they can claim by connecting their wallet. The starting point is a badge, which serves as the first layer of your on-chain identity.
2. What is the purpose of the badge, and how does stacking work in Carbon?
Your badge is your genesis layer — it’s the foundation of your stack and represents your unique identity in the testnet. Once claimed, you’ll be able to stack achievements, credentials, and milestones on top of this badge. This format ensures every layer reflects real activity or contribution within the ecosystem.
3. Can I create or customize my own stack in Carbon?
No. In Carbon, you can only claim a stack that has already been generated for you. This design is intentional — to focus on earned identity rather than user-created assets. However, you can personalize your stack over time by adding meaningful, verifiable layers through your participation and contributions.
