Here are the highlights for September’s development work.
Stacks App : Released Seasons 2 and 3
Season 2
- Addressed the slow loading issue for Gallery images. Improve performance by compressing images, reducing their size to load faster without significantly compromising quality.
- Fixed various bugs, including the display of duplicate images in the Stacks App
Season 3
- Expanded access beyond Geeq NFT holders to include Twitter users.
Working ahead
- Defined Season 4 features to add user uploaded images in addition to user-generated images through Dall-E. Began implementation.
Stability/Scalability
Migrated from Redis queue to RabbitMQ
Redis is primarily an in-memory data store can be used for queuing, whereas RabbitMQ is optimized for message throughput and efficiently manages memory vs disk storage. This fundamental architectural difference often leads to lower memory usage.
Other
Investigated and implemented tools to help manage multi-chain deployment across multiple environments.
Summary
The team responded to community feedback on the Stacks App from Season 1, expanding access in Season 3 by opening the Stacks App and Block Explorer to Twitter accounts and consolidating accounts onto a single blockchain.
In September, priorities included re-releasing the Stacks App to support both user-uploaded images and Dall-E-generated content.
Additionally, the team advanced work on Geeq’s no-smart contract fungible token mints, slated for release after the initial test net. Preliminary development on audit transaction functionality is also underway for future launches.
